b334c9470b constellation: Reuse InitialScriptState and InitialPipelineState in UnprivilegedPipelineContent (#40529)
`UnprivilegedPipelineContent` contains all of the data necessary to
create a new `ScriptThread` with an initial `Pipeline` in a new
process. This change reuses the `InitialScriptState` and
`InitialPipelineState` structs inside `UnprivilegedPipelineContent` and
renames it to `NewScriptEventLoopProcessInfo` to clarify what it does.

In addition, `InitialScriptState` also repeated much of the data of
`NewPipelineInfo`, which is now deduplicated and passed separately to
the `ScriptThreadFactory`.

The overall goal here is to make `ScriptThread` and `Pipeline` creation
separate. A `ScriptThread` contains many `Pipeline`s which come and go,
so it should not depend on a single creation `Pipeline`. This is the
first step toward doing that.

Some inputs to `ScriptThreadFactory` differ based on whether the new
`ScriptThread` is created in a new process or not. This change makes it
so that these input are passed as extra arguments.

Finally these changes have revealed a couple members of data structures
that aren't used. These have been removed.

Testing: This is just a refactor and shouldn't change behavior so is
covered by existing tests.

99daf8c644 script: Wrap remaining unsafe code and enable unsafe_op_in_unsafe_fn (#40499)
This is last step toward enabling the default rustc
`unsafe_op_in_unsafe_fn` warning for the script crate. It wraps the
remaining unsafe code in `unsafe {}` and removes the line disabling this
warning from `script`'s `Cargo.toml`. In addition, two variables are
renamed from `v` to something slightly more descriptive.

Testing: This should not change behavior so is covered by existing
tests.

f48b6d054f Script: Do not double copy for javascript source (#40464)
Previously, `evaluate_js_on_global_with_result` took a &str and most
cases
of it being called are owned strings. As it itself converts it to a
DOMString which owns the string it double copied it.

We now use Cow<'_, str> as input making both sides happy.

Testing: Does not change functionality.

148ce3e9c7 constellation: Always include the WebViewId in Pipeline specific messages (#39974)
It would be useful for the Constellation is ever going to store data
per-WebView for the purposes of making cleanup and resource management
easier. If that's ever going to happen the `WebView` needs to be passed
with all messages that need it. This change makes it so that messages to
the Constellation that require a Pipeline also carry a WebViewId. This
eliminates one way in which message handling might go wrong.

This avoids making the Constelaltion look up the `WebViewId` for many
messages
that it receives.

Testing: This should not change observable behavior, so should be
covered by existing tests.

c776475b3b Remove Servo's wrapper around rand (#39979)
This wrapper was added in order to eliminate the number of file
descriptors used accessing `/dev/urandom`, but these days `osrandom` and
by proxy `rand` will try to use `getrandom` on Linux and similar system
APIs on other platforms [^1].

This is a trial balloon for removing the wrapper, since almost all
modern Linux systems have `getrandom` (available since Linux
3.17).

Testing: Should not change observable behavior (only in random ways), so
should
be covered by WPT tests.

9042b68d70 Add policy container to all requests (#39775)
In preparation of adding a client to a request, we first need to add a
policy container to all requests. Some where missing and relying on
fallbacks (that need to be removed).

For worklets this adds the appropriate policy container from the
containing global, but since that's still behind a pref, no tests are
affected.

For font contexts I tried to pass through the relevant information, but
it is a tad too much. Once fontcontext knows more information about its
containing global (as the TODO also points to referrer), we should clean
this up.

FxHash is faster than FnvHash and SipHash for simple types up to at

Any CSP violations happening when loading a worker should be reported

ca47cc2fa3 Add a basic caching mechanism for ImageKeys. (#37369)
This creates a new method in shared/compositing/lib to generate image
keys that are send over the webview. This does not immediately return
the keys but goes over the constellation to receive the keys from the
IOCompositor. To make this more efficient, we now cache the keys in
image_cache in a simple FIFO order. The old blocking method stays intact
for now but got renamed to make the blocking clear.
The blocking calls that are left are in:
- `components/canvas/canvas_data.rs`
- `components/script/dom/htmlmediaelement.rs`

Testing: WPT tests should cover this as this doesn't change any

5e9de2cb61 Include WebViewId into EmbedderMsg variants where possible (#35211)
`EmbedderMsg` was previously paired with an implicit
`Option<WebViewId>`, even though almost all variants were either always
`Some` or always `None`, depending on whether there was a `WebView
involved.

This patch adds the `WebViewId` to as many `EmbedderMsg` variants as
possible, so we can call their associated `WebView` delegate methods
without needing to check and unwrap the `Option`. In many cases, this
required more changes to plumb through the `WebViewId`.

Notably, all `Request`s now explicitly need a `WebView` or not, in order
to ensure that it is passed when appropriate.

77bc7f415d script: Use enums for event loop senders and receivers (#34896)
Previously, senders and receivers to different kinds of event loops (the
main `ScriptThread`, different types of workers) used a rust `trait`
mechanism to implement dynamic behavior. This led to having many unused
implementations of this `trait`. This change moves to using an `enum`
based approach for these senders and receivers and removes all of the
dead code.

In addition, to allowing for use of rust's dead code detection, it
simplifies the code a great deal. All of these generic senders and
receivers are moved to the `messaging.rs` file and given proper
documentation.

Finally, empty an `JSTraceable` implementation is made for all
crossbeam `Sender<...>`s to avoid having to manually skip them everytime
they are included in structs. The pre-existing empty `MallocSizeOf`
implementation is used more thoroughly.

Other unecessary wrappers around these senders and receivers are removed
as well.

5f927a2c28 script: Refactor channels in ScriptThread into receivers and senders (#34776)
Create two new data structures in the `script` crate to hold senders and
receiver:

- `ScriptThreadSenders`: holds all outgoing channels from the
`ScriptThread` including a channel to the `ScriptThread` itself. The
ultimate goal with this is to reduce duplication by giving a boxed
version of this this to `Window`s.
- `ScriptThradReceivers`: holds all incoming channels to the
`ScriptThread`. This isn't cloenable like the senders. This is used to
abstract away `recv()` and `try_recv()` methods used to make the
`ScriptThread` event loop easier to read.

In addition:

- The many duplicated `ScriptThread` self-senders for the `TaskManager`
have been removed and, in general, a lot of boilerplate is removed as
  well.
- Visibilty of all methods affected by this change is changed to
`pub(crate)` in order to take advantage of dead code detection. Some
dead code produced from macros is removed.
- Some conversion code is refactord into implementations of the `From`
  trait.
- The names of channels uses a standard "sender" and "receiver" naming
as well as trying to be descriptive of where they go in `ScriptThread`
  as well as `InitialScriptState`

3398fc017b Move non-gfx things out of gfx_traits and create a base crate (#32296)
For a long time, `gfx_traits` has held a lot of things unrelated to graphics
and also unrelated to the `gfx` crate (which is mostly about fonts).
This is a cleanup which does a few things:

1. Move non `gfx` crate things out of `gfx_traits`. This is important in
order to prevent dependency cycles with a different integration between
   layout, script, and fonts.
2. Rename the `msg` crate to `base`. It didn't really contain anything
to do with messages and instead mostly holds ids, which are used
across many different crates in Servo. This new crate will hold the
*rare* data types that are widely used.

Details:

 - All BackgroundHangMonitor-related things from base to a new
   `background_hang_monitor_api` crate.
 - Moved `TraversalDirection` to `script_traits`
 - Moved `Epoch`-related things from `gfx_traits` to `base`.
 - Moved `PrintTree` to base. This should be widely useful in Servo.
 - Moved `WebrenderApi` from `base` to `webrender_traits` and renamed it
   to `WebRenderFontApi`.

9c0561536d script: Do not run layout in a thread (#31346)
* script: Do not run layout in a thread

Instead of spawning a thread for layout that almost always runs
synchronously with script, simply run layout in the script thread.

This is a resurrection of #28708, taking just the bits that remove the
layout thread. It's a complex change and thus is just a first step
toward cleaning up the interface between script and layout. Messages are
still passed from script to layout via a `process()` method and script
proxies some messages to layout from other threads as well.

Big changes:

1. Layout is created in the script thread on Document load, thus every
live document is guaranteed to have a layout. This isn't completely
hidden in the interface, but we can safely `unwrap()` on a Document's
   layout.
2. Layout configuration is abstracted away into a LayoutConfig struct
and the LayoutFactory is a struct passed around by the Constellation.
This is to avoid having to monomorphize the entire script thread
   for each layout.
3. Instead of having the Constellation block on the layout thread to
figure out the current epoch and whether there are pending web fonts
loading, updates are sent synchronously to the Constellation when
rendering to a screenshot. This practically only used by the WPT.

A couple tests start to fail, which is probably inevitable since removing
the layout thread has introduced timing changes in "exit after load" and
screenshot behavior.

f8ec3df495 Fix intermittent crashes in paint worklets (#30671)
Garbage collection means that the worklets might drop after the script
head has been cleaned up. The worklet now caches the thread pool in the
DOM object itself which should prevent it from needing to access script
thread TLS when being cleaned up. The value is stored as a OnceCell to
maintain the same lazy thread pool creation pattern as before.
